The Social Change Assistance Trust
The Social Change Assistance Trust (SCAT) is a relatively small and creative ‘community grant maker’ that channels funds from government and large corporate donors to rural community-based development organisations, local economic development initiatives and HIV programmes.
Keystone facilitated a series of workshops to help SCAT field staff develop a new approach to monitoring their social change and enterprise development work.
A Blended Value Framework for Tourism Enterprises in Rwanda.
Keystone was commissioned by Humanity United, an affiliate of the Omidyar Network, to develop a ‘blended value’ valuation and reporting framework for economic enterprises that embodies respect for the environment, meaningful benefits to area residents, and real economic value for dollars spent.
The resulting framework presents an overview of the key economic, social and environmental considerations that investors and developers should keep in mind as final business plans are drafted and operating contracts set in place.
It also offers a set of metrics that can be brought together with the specific financial and operating plans for a venture in order to assess the full value creation that might be realized.
